The Fourth of July is coming!
The Fourth of July holds a special place in my heart. I have a lot of memories from that day- my favorite being 14 years ago when Josh told me he loved me for the very first time.
14 years?? Geez. I’m old.
Last year, we started a tradition of having a big party on the Fourth of July for lots of friends to come and have a place to come hang out for the day. We live in a small town that has a parade each year and the parade happens just at the end of our street! So, we incorporate that into our day and watch the parade, then we provide lunch, let the kids play and swim if the weather cooperates. Then we have dinner and when it starts to get dark, we light a fire in our fire pit and do some little fireworks in the driveway.
It was so much fun last year that we decided that we would do it every year! So, we’re doing it again this year! And I’m super excited! I hope lots of people come.
I found a great blog post yesterday with a bunch of different dessert ideas for the Fourth. I’m dying to try that flag cake!
